Toronto is the gateway to Canada and is home to one of the safest and most vibrant Jewish communities in the world. 2023 will be the sixth time our Convention has been held in this fabulous city, and we promise this to be an event you will remember. After Convention, consider extending your stay, and explore all Canada offers.
Convention allows you to connect, engage and learn in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Meet new friends and renew friendships of old. You will experience a sense of pride and ownership as you take part in everything Alpha Omega has to offer. Experience the vibrancy and protection Alpha Omega provides us all.
Our home will be the fabulous Westin Harbour Castle, located in the heart of the Toronto waterfront and steps away from downtown Toronto and its many attractions, renowned cuisine, and energetic nightlife.
Our Convention Committee has been planning to make this an unforgettable experience for many months. Start at our Welcoming Dinner with magician and mentalist Mike D’Urzo, named at the Canadian Event Awards as the "Canadian Entertainer of the Year ."Mike will stroll the crowd mesmerizing you with his close-up magic.
An Alpha Omegan’s trip to Toronto would only be complete with a tour of the Alpha Omega Dental Centre for Geriatric Care at Baycrest Health Sciences, a state-of-the-art clinic built and funded entirely by the Toronto Chapter. A virtual tour of our clinic will be included as part of a presentation on dental care for the frail and elderly by our Baycrest team. Conditions permitting, we will accommodate those who wish to see the clinic up close. Have lunch and spend an afternoon at the Island Yacht Club, a short 15-minute hop on the club tender, where you can enjoy swimming, tennis, pickle ball, and of course, sailing Lake Ontario on one of our members' boats. Experience the incredible evening Toronto skyline with dinner and dance on the fabulous, Obsession 111, sponsored by the Alpha Omega Foundation.
Remember our side trip to Niagara Falls and the heart of Canada’s wine country, including stops at several wineries. There is, of course, much more, including a Shabbat dinner at Beth Tzedec, a landmark North American synagogue, a keynote address by Stephen Farber discussing antisemitism and how Jewish communities are the most targeted group for hate crimes today, a walking tour of Jewish Toronto and course our closing Awards dinner and dance. And yes, in addition to our business meetings, you will have time to explore on your own, take in a show at one of many theatre venues, or enjoy a relaxing dinner in one of Toronto's marvelous restaurants.
I am truly honored to be the Convention Marshall for this event and to be supported by a dedicated committee that is tirelessly working to make this all happen. Make your reservations today. We look forward to meeting you in Toronto…….a place to go, a place to grow.
